Sleeve pots in laminated stoneware
These demonstrate my latest experimenting with form and surface. They are based on a return to plastic clay bodies and away from paper clay. This return demands a rethinking about the way the clay behaves, and how that in turn prompts form.
They are two sided pots whose shapes echo the more rotund forms of thrown studio ceramics. I am particularly interested in the way Hans Coper works with the thrown form.
